Granted, there’s nothing fun about having to distance from others and work from home to avoid catching a virus, but hey! We were out here doing out best we could to make a bad situation a little more bearable, and these funny backgrounds were here to help.
Now, I’ve been Zooming all day, every day for the past year and a half or so, and I rely on funny zoom backgrounds to make the experience a little more ~fun~. Then, in the bottom left corner of your Zoom window (while you’re Zooming), you’ll see an icon that says “Stop video.” Click the little arrow right next to it, and select “Choose a virtual background.” Then upload one or all of these! Thing is, we need more options for all the video-chatting happening in our lives rn. If you don’t, it’s like a virtual green screen for your face when you video-chat. But because technology, Zoom backgrounds exist. Still, before every Zoom, I find myself scrambling for a suitable background that (a) doesn’t show the pileup of laundry in my room and (b) doesn’t reveal that I’m actually in bed.
Not to brag, but I’ve gotten pretty, pretty good at Zooming (yes to Zoom as a verb). Now, my friends and I can watch each other sip adult beverages alone in our homes on video!!! What a time! It’s changed how we conduct meetings while WFH and-most important-how we get our drink on with people who are not houseplants. Let’s be real, Zoom is the only thing keeping us together rn.
